Cinzano Extra Dry is an Italian dry vermouth from Turin with centuries of history, built on white wine infused with herbs, spices, flowers and roots. It is usually 18% ABV. The colour is pale straw and crystal clear. The nose is fresh and complex, led by wormwood, savoury herbs and white flowers with a faint fruit edge. The palate is dry and refined, with light citrus acidity, herbal bitterness and a spiced touch. Serve well chilled at 8–12 °C — warm vermouth is not worth drinking. Neat, use vermouth glasses or a low rocks glass over ice with a sprig of mint or a slice of lemon; it is also the classic base for a Dry Martini and for refreshing mixes with tonic or soda. As an aperitif it suits olives, soft and semi-hard cheeses, canapés with salmon, prawns, almonds and crackers.
