Two Hands «Gnarly Dudes» Shiraz (2020) — a powerful, juicy and full-bodied red from the Barossa Valley (Australia)! • About the wine: Two Hands Wines is a cult Australian winery founded in 1999 by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz with the aim of making the finest Shiraz wines from across Australia. «Gnarly Dudes» is part of their celebrated «Garden» series. The wine is made from Shiraz harvested from old, gnarled vines (between 25 and 60 years) in the sub-regions of the Barossa Valley. It is aged in French oak barrels (partly new) for about 12 months. • Tasting notes: The wine shows a deep, impenetrable purple-red colour. The aroma is powerful, concentrated and layered, with dominant notes of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, plum, dark chocolate, liquorice, eucalyptus and sweet oriental spice. The palate is full-bodied and generous, with velvety, integrated tannins, excellent structure, high fruit concentration and a long, warming, spicy finish. • At the table: This wine was made for serious meat dishes. Ideal with grilled steaks (ribeye, sirloin), leg of lamb with rosemary, smoked beef, game (venison) and aged hard cheeses (Cheddar, Parmesan). A wine that demands attention and gives genuine pleasure to lovers of big, structured reds.
