Beronia Rueda Verdejo 2022 is a Spanish dry white from Rueda, 100% Verdejo from the 2022 harvest. The style is refreshing and mineral, with an expressive herbal-and-fruit profile. The nose is intense and unmistakably varietal: white flowers, gooseberry, green apple and citrus, along with the freshly cut grass and fennel that mark Verdejo. The palate is clean and balanced, with lively acidity, a light savoury bitterness on the close and a bracing finish. Pairs with grilled prawns, mussels, squid and oysters, with white fish in lemon sauce and baked trout, and with vegetable salads in citrus dressing, sushi and tapas. For cheese, choose young goat's cheeses, feta or mozzarella. Serve at 8–10 °C; it also stands well on its own as an aperitif.
