Bayou Reserve

Description

Bayou Reserve is an aged craft rum at 40% from Louisiana Spirits, made from Louisiana sugar cane. Double distillation in copper pot stills in small batches and maturation in American oak on a solera system give it a complex profile. The colour is golden amber with copper lights. On the nose, vanilla, caramel, maple syrup, toasted oak and light tropical fruit. The palate is dense, oily and balanced, with toffee, candied nuts, spice and wood. The finish is long and warming, with a spiced trail. Sip it slowly at room temperature from a heavy-bottomed rocks glass or a tulip glass, letting it open; a couple of large cubes soften the strength. It pairs with bitter chocolate, truffles, caramel and nut desserts, black coffee and a cigar.
