Zuccardi Serie A Torrontés is an Argentinian white from the cool, high-altitude Uco Valley in Mendoza. It is 100% Torrontés, an indigenous variety known for its perfumed, floral character. The bouquet is bright and expressive: ripe white peach, lychee, rose petals, jasmine and candied citrus. The palate is refreshing and alive, with citrus, green apple and white fruit and a light spiced note on the finish; the acidity is bracing and the finish clean. Serve well chilled with seafood: prawns, scallops and squid, grilled or in garlic sauce. It also works with sushi and sashimi, with Thai and Chinese salads that carry a little tang, and with fresh goat cheeses. Use a classic medium-sized white wine glass with a tapering bowl.
