Tullamore D.E.W. is an Irish blended whiskey. Triple distillation gives it softness, while the blend opens with spice, citrus and a light woody sweetness. Drink it neat or over ice: a heavy-bottomed rocks glass lets you warm it in the hand, while a tulip glass gathers the aroma more fully. A few drops of cool water release notes of vanilla, apple and spice. It pairs with steak, barbecue ribs and roast meat, with aged cheddar, gouda and blue cheeses, and with dark chocolate from 70% cocoa or nut tarts.
