The Macallan 12 YO Double Cask is a Highland single malt Scotch. It is built from two cask types — American and European oak, both seasoned with Oloroso sherry — which gives it a balanced, many-sided character. The colour is honeyed amber. On the nose, creamy toffee, baked apple, orange peel, vanilla and soft wood spice. The palate is velvety and round, honey and citrus woven through raisin and oak. The finish is long, warm and elegant. Best neat as a digestif at room temperature, from a tulip glass (Glencairn) or a snifter. It pairs with dark chocolate desserts, nuts or aged cheeses.
