Steinbräu Pils is a classic German-style pale lager, a Pilsner. The colour is golden amber and crystal clear; poured, it builds a dense, fine-grained snow-white head. The aroma is led by clean malt notes with bready tones, rounded out by grassy and floral nuances of noble German hops. The palate is balanced and easy to drink: soft malt sweetness gives way to a clean hop bitterness. The finish is dry, refreshing and long. The best serving temperature is 7–9 °C. The beer belongs with hearty food: Bavarian sausages, fried sausages, chicken wings, grilled dishes, savoury snacks and cheeses. Pour it into a tall, tapered Pilsner glass, which holds the thick foam and concentrates the hop aroma, or into a classic heavy beer mug.
