Reyka Icelandic Vodka is a small-batch premium vodka produced in the coastal town of Borgarnes in Iceland. It is based on glacial meltwater from the Grálarvatn spring near a volcano, naturally filtered through ancient lava fields; before bottling, the vodka passes through basalt lava rocks. Distillation takes place in a rare Carter-Head copper still, producing a very clean spirit in a single cycle while keeping the finer nuances of flavour. The distillery runs on geothermal energy and is fully carbon neutral. The palate is soft, silky and clean, with light wild-herb tones, a faint sweetness and a smooth finish without any burn. It is 40% ABV. Serve well chilled, neat or over ice. It works well as the base of premium cocktails such as a classic Martini or an Icelandic mule. At the table it suits traditional Icelandic fare: smoked salmon and seafood.
