Marani Pirosmani Red Medium Dry is a medium-dry red from Kakheti, named after the Georgian painter Niko Pirosmani. It is 100% Saperavi, Georgia's principal red grape, which gives the wine depth and concentration. The nose is expressive: ripe blackberry, blackcurrant, prune and a light spiced edge. The palate is harmonious and velvety, full-bodied, with juicy dark fruit, balanced acidity and a fruity finish. The medium-dry style makes it versatile at the table. Serve with baked ham, homemade sausages from the grill, pasta with meat sauces and pizza, and with soft and semi-hard cheeses and charcuterie. Use a medium-sized all-purpose red wine glass with a slightly tapered bowl.
