Dewar's 12 Years Old 'Double Aged' is a blended Scotch of malt and grain whiskies aged at least 12 years. After blending, the whisky returns to oak for several more months — this double ageing is what makes the palate round and silky. The colour is golden amber. On the nose, ripe dried fruit, juicy orange, creamy vanilla and light florals. The palate is smooth, balanced and full-bodied, with baked apple, honey, candied citrus and warm spice. The finish is long and warm, with fruit. Serve at room temperature in a tulip glass or a heavy rocks glass; it also takes ice and works in cocktails. It pairs with light desserts, dried fruit and nuts.
