Description

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select is a Tennessee whiskey at 45% from the Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg. Every bottle is drawn from a single barrel: the team hand-picks around 1% of the casks, taken from the upper floors of the warehouses where temperature swings are greatest. The colour is dark amber with copper lights. On the nose, sweet caramel, ripe vanilla, candied fruit, spice and oak smoke. The palate is dense, oily and complex, with toasted oak, spice, sweet corn, toffee and a light peppery bite. The finish is long, warming and slightly dry. Serve in a heavy rocks glass or a tulip-shaped tasting glass. It is fine neat; a few drops of water or one large cube soften the strength. It pairs with a cigar, aged cheeses and bitter chocolate.
