Cromwell's Royal Fine and Deluxe is a classically styled blended Scotch, built for roundness and softness. The colour is deep amber gold. The nose is layered: dried fruit — raisin and apricot — light vanilla and caramel, fine oak and spice. The palate is rich, velvety and round, its honeyed, fruity sweetness balanced by a light smokiness. The finish is long and warming. Drink it unhurried: neat, lightly chilled, over ice or with a few drops of water. It pairs with dark chocolate, nuts and a cigar, with aged cheeses such as Parmesan or Roquefort, and with fruit tarts or crème brûlée.
