Bayou Rum Mardi Grass XO

Description

Bayou Rum Mardi Grass XO is an aged XO rum at 40% from Louisiana Spirits. It is made from local Louisiana sugar cane, released in limited batches and matured at length in selected oak casks. The colour is dark amber with golden and copper lights. On the nose, ripe vanilla, caramel, exotic spice, dried fruit and oak. The palate is dense, velvety and complex, with toffee, candied fruit, toasted oak and a spiced trail. The finish is long and warming. Sip it slowly from a heavy-bottomed rocks glass or a tulip glass, giving it a moment to open; one large cube softens the strength. It pairs with dark chocolate and truffles, caramel desserts, black coffee and a cigar.
