Description

Barrister B47 Dry Gin (Angel Face Edition) is a limited high-strength gin, 47% abv, from a special bartenders' series. The aroma is intense, led by wild juniper, aromatic herbs and spice, with refined citrus nuances. The palate is dense and warming: the strength is felt but held in balance by spice and juniper, and the finish is long and dry. At 47% the gin is a reliable base for cocktails — in a Gin & Tonic or a Negroni it is not lost behind ice and mixers; serve it in a wide balloon glass or a rocks glass. Neat, it is drunk well chilled over a couple of large ice cubes, while a large wine glass suits long drinks. For food take lightly salted red fish, prawn skewers and fish canapés, olives, which set off the dry, spiced profile, fresh goat cheeses and soft cheeses with herbs, and for garnishing mixes, wedges of lime, lemon and grapefruit or fresh cucumber.
