Bacardí Carta Blanca

Description

Bacardí Carta Blanca is a white rum at 40%. The brand was founded in Cuba in 1862; today the rum is produced in Puerto Rico. Its softness comes from maturation in American white oak followed by charcoal filtration, which strips out colour and any harshness. The nose is light and fresh, with vanilla, almond and orchard fruit; the palate is fine, dryish and round, with tropical fruit and citrus; the finish is short and clean. This rum belongs above all in cocktails: a Mojito with mint, lime, cane sugar and soda, a Cuba Libre with cola and lime, a classic Daiquiri. Chilled, with a couple of ice cubes and a wedge of lime, it also drinks well on its own — with seafood canapés, grilled prawns and fruit platters.
